Norfolk and Suffolk LDWA
Long Distance Walkers Association
About us
Walks

The group has an active social walk calendar, usually two walks a month (about 20 miles, on Sundays). There are occasionally night walks of about 18 miles (starting at 10pm, finish 4am). We also have some walks on Wednesdays (for the lucky members we have who don't have anything else to do !), and a few 35 mile social walks for the dedicated (!)

We organise four challenge walks a year:

The TriAnglian walks, 18 plus and 26 plus mile routes:

The Daffodil Dawdle (near Newmarket) in late March / early April
The Poppyline Marathon (North Norfolk) in mid June
The Flower of Suffolk (Suffolk Coast) in early October

And one longer event, of 50-something miles, though we are taking a rest from this in 2009:

The Poppyline Fifty (North Norfolk) in early August.

History

LDWA activities in East Anglia, and the Cambridge area in particular, were organised by the Anglian Group. The Anglian Group, a long established group which was based in Cambridge, originally covered all three counties. Norfolk & Suffolk Group continues to organise the shorter Anglian Events. (on which the TriAnglian Challenge is based)

The Norfolk and Suffolk Group was originally known as the Suffolk Group.
